The Director General, NYSC, Brigadier General Muhammad Kaku Fadah has appealed to the Federal Government (FG), for more support to ensure the continuous upgrade of Orientation Camp facilities and other logistic provisions.
General Fadah who expressed profound gratitude to the FG for its “abiding faith” in the Scheme as demonstrated through the constant provision of funds for the smooth conduct of their operations, also thanked State Governments for their support.
He stated this on Wednesday, during the opening ceremony of the 2022 Batch ‘C’ Pre-Orientation Course Workshop which took place, in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.
In the same vein, General Fadah thanked the FCT administration, traditional rulers, security agencies and other stakeholders in the territory for their immense support.
This is as he also expressed appreciation to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) and State Ministries of Health whose immense contributions assisted in the safe and efficient conduct of their Orientation Courses in the heat of the COVID-19 pandemic.
He said, “We count on your continued support as we remain committed to ensuring adherence to the established prevention protocols during the forthcoming Orientation Courses.”
He further disclosed that the Pre Orientation Course Workshop is a forum for the NYSC top Management, their partner agencies and key Camp officials to review the conduct of previous Orientation Courses to map out strategies for improved performance as they prepare for the next exercise.
According to Fadah, the choice of the theme, “Exploring Effective Stakeholders Collaboration for Improved Orientation Programme” is informed by our recognition of the importance of the roles of all stakeholders in this endeavour.
“In this regard, we are already working together for the successful conduct of the forthcoming 2022 Batch ‘C’ Orientation Course. Amongst other expected outcomes, this forum will help to fine-tune our arrangements and policy guidelines for the seamless execution of the exercise.”
Meanwhile, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Alhaji Muhammad Musa Bello who was represented by the Acting Director, Youth Department, FCTA, Musa Mamman Lai assured the DG of the FCTA’s Administration will commitment to continue to partner with the Scheme for the successful implementation of its lofty programmes.
The Minister also appreciated the DG and the rest of the Management for choosing the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja as the venue of this workshop.
