A 22-year-old robbery suspect is now in the Lagos State Police command net for attacking and dispossessing a student of his valuables.
The command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest on his verified Twitter handles monitored by the News Agency of Nigeria on Tuesday.
Hundeyin said that the suspect was arrested by officers of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the Command on Tuesday morning.
“At 1:02 a:m, a student just arrived in Ojota from Abuja and was trekking home nearby.
“The suspect and one other, still at large, attacked and dispossessed him of all his valuables.
“Thanks to the eagle-eyed RRS patrol officers around the scene,” he said.
Hundeyin said that the attackers were pursued but only the suspect was arrested while his accomplice escaped.
According to him, efforts are ongoing to arrest the other.
