Don Urges Imo Corps Members On Future Energy Solutions

The Team Leader of Africa Center of Excellence in Future Energies and Electrochemical Systems (ACE FUELS), one of the World Bank
Centers of Excellence situated in the Federal University of Technology Owerri, Imo State, Prof
Emeka Oguzie has encouraged Corps Members serving in the state to avail themselves of the opportunity provided by the
Center to fill a growing education, skills, and information gap in the field of Clean and sustainable energy, reduction of emissions and
help to promote local content in the country.
The don made this known when the Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Imo State, Mrs. Rachel Idaewor paid a familiarization visit to the center
recently.
Mrs. Idaewor while discussing with the team leader of the Center said the NYSC deemed it necessary to partner with the Center.
According to Ideawor, the initiative would enhance the scope and widen the resource base
of the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme in the State.

Besides,  the visit equally provided an opportunity for the two Leaders to discuss ways the Corps Members can benefit from the Center.
The areas of focus encompass Nanotechnology, Future Energies, Electrochemical Technology,
and Corrosion Technology.
In attendance were the Assistant Director SAED, Mrs. Ike Nwosu, the Assistant Director, PRU,
Orunta Ugochukwu, and the PA to the State Coordinator, Mr. Ovu Stephen.
