Renowned activist and quintessential lawyer, Professor Chidi Odinkalu has been appointed the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), Igbariam.
Other notable figures in the council included wife of late Biafra leader, Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, wife of former Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Mrs. Ifeoma Ekwueme, Chief Christopher Ndubuisi and his Royal Highness Oranu Chris Chidume.
In a statement signed by Mr. Christian Aburime, Press Secretary to Anambra State Governor Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo,
“The new Council, assembled with a focus on excellence, integrity and strategic leadership, will provide guidance and oversight for the continued growth and development of the state university.
It was good radiance as lack of Governing Council has stultified progress in that University.
